2008 Festival Results
Compared
Compare and contrast ...

Now we have the results of all three 2008 British International Film Festivals aimed mainly at amateur movie makers (see results of BIAFF, Cotswold, Guernsey) let's repeat the exercise carried out in 2006 and see how they rate the same films. [2006 comparison.]

Each festival has its own names for awards. I have grouped them thus (with apologies to the various festival organisers for the simplification):

Differences?

  • The scoring looks remarkably similar - though the Cotswold seems a tad more generous.

  • BIAFF did not rate In the National Interest quite so highly as the other two festivals.

  • David Whitworth may wonder why Guernsey did not like Splendid People so much as the others.

Just as the last time we compared them, it looks as if the three UK International Festivals are all pretty consistent in their marking.
